When the days grow long and the sun feels a little too warm, it’s important to help our dogs stay cool and hydrated. Here are two of my favorite summer recipes that are simple, healthy, and always met with a happy tail wag.

Frozen dog treats

Summer Pupsicles

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Mix chicken broth and Greek yogurt in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Place a few berries into silicone molds or ice cube trays.
  3. Pour the broth-yogurt mixture over the berries.
  4. Freeze for at least 3 hours.
  5. Serve outside or in an easy-to-clean space.
Bananas

Frozen Banana Bites

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (no sweeteners)
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter (no xylitol)

Instructions:

  1. Mash bananas in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Stir in Greek yogurt and peanut butter until fully combined.
  3. Spoon mixture into silicone molds or drop by the tablespoon onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Freeze for 2–3 hours until firm.
  5. Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

These treats are refreshing, hydrating, and a nice way to make summer days more comfortable for your dog. A little preparation can turn an ordinary hot afternoon into a cool, tail-wagging moment.
