Ah, Valentine’s Day. For us single folks, this can either be a day to dread or a day to celebrate.  I choose celebration! Why? Because I get to spend it with my best guy, Benji. But even if you don’t have a significant other or a pet to share the day with, Valentine’s is the perfect excuse to celebrate you!

Treat yourself—buy flowers, cook a delicious meal, or take yourself out to dinner (trust me, solo dining can be empowering and fun!). Show yourself the love and appreciation you deserve for all that you do.

And if you have a four-legged Valentine like I do, there’s no better way to spend the day than with them. Here are a few ways to celebrate love, whether it’s for your pup, yourself, or both!

Ways to Celebrate Love This Valentine’s Day:

🐾 Take your dog on a long, scenic walk.

🎥 Snuggle up for a cozy movie night—101 Dalmatians or Snow Dogs are perfect picks.

🍽️ Cook something special for you and your pup (see my easy recipe below!).

💐 Buy yourself flowers and indulge in some chocolates.

❤️ Celebrate your special someone—whether that’s you, your dog, or even a significant other (yes, you can include them too 😉).

Turkey Meatballs for You & Your Pup

Because nothing says I love you quite like a homemade treat!

Ingredients:

  • ½ lb lean ground turkey
  • ¼ cup shredded carrots
  • ¼ cup shredded zucchini
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley (or 1 tsp dried)

Instructions:

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until well combined.

3️⃣ Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop meatballs onto the sheet, leaving about an inch of space between them. You can also roll them by hand.

4️⃣ Bake for 20-30 minutes, depending on size.

5️⃣ Let them cool completely before serving.

Benji loves these, but honestly, he’s just happy being near me. I always joke that if I could find a man who looks at me the way Benji does, I’d be set! But for now, I’m more than happy with my sweet boy by my side.

Wishing you all a Valentine’s Day filled with love—whether it’s from your pup, yourself, or someone special.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
