Green Lipped Mussels sounds like something you would order in a restaurant.  I know I would!

What on earth does that have to do with dogs?

Well, did you know that the number one cause of chronic pain in dogs is arthritis, also called degenerative joint disease?

Joan, what the heck do Green Lipped Mussels have to do with dogs and arthritis?

You know I am a lover of preventative and natural medicines.  Here is the correlation…

An article written by Harriet Meyers, posted on the AKC website states, “Researchers at Clemson University have evaluated Green Lipped Mussels (GLM’s) components and found a high level of omega-3 and other fatty acids, as well as other naturally occurring compounds that can improve joint lubrication, reduce inflammation, stiffness and joint pain, and improve mobility and range of motion.”  For more information, you can read the article on akc.org.

Joan of Bark - Guinness and Green Lipped Mussels

How I know about Green Lipped Mussels.

Why do I know about this?  Guinness was on a Green Lipped Mussel supplement.  I noticed that he wasn’t as sore and had more mobility when he took it regularly.  He wasn’t 100% cured of his joint stiffness but there was definitely an improvement.  Any improvement to my sweet boy’s health was just fine with me.

As a preventative and to keep Benji active, I am starting him on this supplement as a maintenance plan.

If your pup has some joint stiffness or arthritic pain, get the supplement.  This supplement combined with chondroitin supplement provides an excellent and well rounded regimen for joint health.

I love the Super Snouts Joint Powder brand.  It worked great for Guinness and I know Benji will benefit as well.  Remember this is not an overnight remedy.  Give it a week or so and you will start seeing improvements.
